Pam Miller : Working for District 4

Pam has spent her career developing programs that provide for the safety and security of all citizens. Her work in the field of health care administration combined both operational and financial expertise. Her ability to create innovative and cost effective local, regional and state programs will be an asset to the city in developing new financial opportunities.
As President of Kensington Park Community Association, Pam stands out among community leaders by;
* Co-Founding Citizens for a Safe Secure Savannah; This grassroots community organization was started to insure that the citizens of Savannah have adequate information regarding the proposed trucking of millions of gallons of LNG (liquified natural gas) through the streets of Savannah. This group has been the catalyst for local, state and federal officials to learn about the inherent dangers of shipping this liquid. * Spearheading the Traffic Calming Program for all of Savannah: In 2008 Pam went to the Mayor and council and asked for funding to begin what is now the Savannah Traffic Calming Program. This program, which started as a neighborhood effort, has branched out into all Savannah neighborhoods and as of Oct. 2010 became the policy by which all efforts to reduce speeders and change driver behavior is measured.
* Co-Founding the Metro Police and LGBT Collaborative: This group assures that all citizens regardless of sexual orientation receive fair and impartial treatment by the police department. This group was one of the first in the nation and speaks to the City of Savannah's respect for all people. www.sglcpc.org
* Past Board Chair Chatham- Savannah Authority for the Homeless:
Following her desire to assure that all citizens, including those most disinfranchised are spoken for, Pam combined both her mental health background and the knowledge of affective service administration with the needs of the community.
* Past Co-Chair of First City Network: Serving over 8 years in leadership of Georgia's oldest LGBT network, Pam brought innovation to this group and left a lasting legacy and was so honored in 2009 by receiving Savannah Pride's first Lifetime Achievement Award.
* Was honored by the National Campaign of Tolerance in 2002 by then co-chairs Ms. Rosa Parks and Mr. Morris Dees as a founding member for "being an individual whose efforts in human rights were leading the way towards a more tolerant and just America".
